needing prayer for Allie Kate

Monday we got some bad news about Allie Kate... Allie Kate had to go back to be retested for her hearing. In the hospital she failed two test. This would be her 3rd hearing test. So Monday we went to get it rechecked. She failed it. They seem to think she could have severe hearing loss. With this disease she has its rare but some babies can be deaf. I can't even put it into words how we feel... It breaks are hearts. So Im asking all of yall to please pray that this will change. She goes back in a month to be retested so we are hoping and praying for good news. We know that prayer changes things.

Allie Kate 7 weeks old!

Well Miss Allie Kate is 7 weeks old today! She is doing great! As some of you know when she was born she was diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease. As a mom I fell apart you just don't plan on something being wrong with your baby. When she was a week old they had to do surgery on her and take out about 5 inches of her intestines. We were crushed when they said the word surgery... You don't ever want to hear your little tiny newborn is going to have to go through a major surgery. But we are very blessed with wonderful friends and family that came to are rescue! there support and prayers is what has carried us through this. As for now Allie Kate is doing so good the problem should be corrected and she should be fine. Of course there is always a chance of  future surgery's. But the lord knows all about her and we are trusting in him that she will do ok and not need anymore! We are so thankful for all of your prayers! We are truly blessed! Thanks again!

Lemonade for sale!

Madison and some of her cousins had a lemonade /cookie sale for a yard sale that my family the Guffey's had last weekend! The girls made alot of MONEY! lol maybe I need to make me a lemonade stand to support my diaper fund!! Anyways they had a blast my parents rented a inflatable slip and slide for them to play on that day... It was funny seeing some adults try it out! Allie Kate got to meet alot of her family that day that had not got to see her yet... so safe to say I did not get to hold her much! It was a fun day of grilling and homemade ice cream! and of course lemonade. Nice to be back to normal we enjoyed it.

WE ARE HOME!!

After 2 weeks in the hospital and a long stay in the NICU  we are home thanks to alot of prayers! Allie kate is doing so much better and home! So is big sister Madison as you can see!

OK I know I SHOULD be still in bed I woke up one hour before the alarm is going to go off! I can't help it nervous have set in! because today we have are having are sweet baby girl! They for sure want you there at the crack of dawn that's for sure! Madison is so excited! she will be wearing her big sister shirt very proudly in a little while when my parents bring her down. Our life is going to change forever today..... will try to get some pics post of our sweet girls as soon as we can!

Allie Kate will be here this Thursday!!

Well today has been a long day! we found out today that Miss Allie Kate will be here Thursday! when I went to the doctor today my blood pressure was high and the doctor said I have mild preclampisa. He said my symptoms would only get worse. So with that being said she will be 4 weeks early. I'm excited in one way but nervous too. He did a ultrasound on her today and her lungs look good so that was good news. I'm just hoping and praying everything goes well Thursday. So if you think of us on Thursday say a little prayer for us we will need it!

4 weeks on bed rest!

Today marks 4 weeks I have been on bed rest. Its not been fun but I know its best for the baby and me. These last couple of weeks I can say for the first time in a long time I have been board! I guess when it comes to everyday life things get so crazy with cleaning, school routines, work, church... that you really don't have time to get board! I have started reading a series of books which has been a change. Sometimes I have thought in the past I want to read a good book, but I don't seem to have the time. perfect timing now. Also thanks to  netflix I have watched alot of my favorite movies that I have not seen in a while. You know the ones nobody in your family wants to see when they are on tv or whatever. Anyways today I go back to the doctor hopefully we will know something more... ( crossing my fingers) Have a great Monday!

Great friends and Family!

There are people you can just count on in life. They show up. Never ask to they just are there. I have been blessed with family and friends that  " show up" I have been thinking about how Im going to improve my "showing up" after I get well. I questioned am I a good friend? have I "showed up" for them when they needed it? I want to be that way. Sometimes life just gets in the way. Im the type I have alot of  "good" intentions. That sometimes never gets carried out.  I have had so many friends and family over lately that has helped with so many things that its just been unreal. They " show up" to clean, cook, bring in dinner, lunch to have a quick visit or spend the day with me to keep me company.. or keep me sane during the day on the phone when I know they are busy with there normal routines of there family but they take the time to blab with me over pointless stuff  just because they know im board out of my mind. Im blessed that's all there is to it. I think I have the best family and friends out there. So this post is to say thank you! I love yall so very much thanks for all you have done for me and my family.

Update~

Well went to the doctor this morning and my blood pressure was good so that is great news! On the other had I'm still on bed rest and my doctor is playing it by ear on what time/date she will be born. I still have to go to the doctor twice a week Monday's and Thursday's. He did give me permission to go to my baby shower yesterday which was alot of fun! It felt so good to act normal for a day! I really enjoyed it! We have one more shower but it will be after she gets here. I will have to post some pics of the shower on my next post they done a great job it was so cute! Well that's all for now. Goodnight

3 weeks as of today unless my blood.pressure gets worse! My doctor thinks it would be best to take her 3 weeks early! bedrest for me till then:(  but he did give me permission to go to my baby shower this Sunday so I am looking forward to that for sure. Other than that I now will be seeing my doctor twice a week till Miss Allie Kate gets here.... 6 weeks was what I have been banking on I thought! I have got to get some list going. Speaking of list I know this is way off subject but the movie "How Does She Do It" Is   such a funny movie for all you moms out there that multitask everyday you will love it. spring break and bed rest?

Good Morning! well its been a crazy week! First of all it has been spring break for Madison! yay! we had been looking forward to spending the week to just hang out and do some fun stuff....... well that all changed when I got really sick with my blood.pressure one night this week I literally had the worse head ache of my life over in the night. I checked my blood. pressure early that morning and my blood. p was through the roof. So I put a call into my doctor and they said I need to come on in to the office. To make a long story short they are testing me for Preeclampasia. If a person has it the only thing to help is bed rest or to have the baby. I will be 34 weeks Monday I still have six more weeks till my due date so doctor put me on bed rest till    I go back to the doctor Monday to get results and to check her measurements. I guess when you hear bed rest you think wow that's going to be nice to do simply do nothing! WRONG! you look around and see all the things you need to be doing! You think of all the places you could be! I miss my job :(  I have been blessed with a family that I have worked for ever since Madison was in PreK. Don't get me wrong I love a good break. But I always like being able to get up and do my own thing as well. Easter is this weekend! I love Easter I love all the pastel colors! Madison got a early Easter gift I guess you could call it from her nana and papa! REAL BUNNIES! 2  of them as a matter of fact! Madison has named them Bella and Mr. Whiskers.Grandparents! that's all I have to say lol. Well I guess my Easter will be at home this year! so feel free to blog! I need all the entertainment I can get!

8 weeks to go!

Today I went in for my doc visit I have 8 weeks to go! Everything is looking good Miss Allie Kate was all in a ball today so we did not get any good ultrasound pictures oh well we will see her in a few weeks no big deal!We were talking about how that looks so uncomfortable to be all balled up like that..Of course that's all she has ever known as my doctor reminded me. As for Madison these days.. she past all her multiplication tables today thank the lord we do not have to study those anymore! Plus Madison informed me that they are DONE with spelling words for the school year!! woooo hooo! I know all you mom's so understand  my excitement on that! State testing is coming up soon. The CRCT test is a week long test that is kind of stressful for the kids now. They have changed the standards alot since I was in school. Now students have to pass the test in 3rd and 5th grade in order to move up to the next grade. School has for sure changed alot! Madison is on spring break as of next week. We are looking forward to that for sure. Not sure what our plans are but we want to do something fun for her that week. This weather is just amazing! I missed my flip flops so bad this winter I'm so glad we have reunited! I do this every year as soon as I pack up our winter stuff there will be a major cold front move in! you watch and see!  Anyways enjoy this fabulous weather while it last!

10 WEEKS TO GO!

Went to my OBGYN yesterday and everything is looking good she weighs in at 3.6oz right now and is head down! hopefully she will stay that way! We are so excited! Madison is on a count down... well she also is on a count down for school  just as much! Allie Kate is due May 21st and the last day of school is May 25th so very close together. I'm thankful that it worked out that way at least Madison can be home over the summer with me and the baby. Plus give me time to get some sense of normal before school starts back. Heartburn is like a daily thing now it seems.. like Tums are my best friends. I love bedtime but these days I do not look forward to going to bed lol I toss and turn sleeping is not been pleasant.at all! But I have to keep in mind that I only have a short time left but on the other hand I will have NO SLEEP coming up so oh well guess that's the joy of being a mommy for now I will take my few hours of lost sleep. I told Dolan that we need to enjoy sleeping in as much as we can because those days are soon to be over! Our life is going to change so much in just 10 weeks.These last couple of weeks I would like to spend some time with Madison one on one and do some fun stuff with her before things just go plum nuts around here.  I still have a mile long to do list that I need to get on the ball with but I guess just have to take it one project at a time. Starting one project tonight in fact so I better get on it! Have a great week!

Happy 30th Bo!!

Well today was spent at my cousin Bo Guffey's 30th Birthday!! It was a surprise 80's/Mario Brothers Theme. It was a blast! Alot of people dressed up in 80's style stuff which was hilarious! I did not get a alot of pictures of people but I did snap a picture of my other cousins "tight rolled" jeans! priceless! anyways they had TVs set up with old Nintendo's and games for everyone to play like "Duck Hunt" and "Super Mario". His cake was super cute it looked like a board on Mario Brother so funny! There was also a table full of 80"s candy that we all loved back in the day like pop rocks, the fake candy cigarettes etc so good. As I looked around at "our style" wow we must have looked so ridiculous back then! sooooo loved the party Bo Happy Birthday!

 Well with tornadoes and all we survived! We got to the Wilderness lodge Friday evening with tornado warnings and flash flood watches all over the area! Everything did turn out ok, there was a bad thunderstorm that came through but other than that we weathered it out! Saturday was perfect weather go figure? We did some shopping and ate lunch at our favorite place Bubba Gump's. Wilderness was great as always but only this stay there was alot more people than last trip. Great weekend I must say! here are a few pics

Time for a break!

So this Friday we are heading out to the Wilderness Lodge I'm looking forward to a break! Seems like last couple of months have been crazy! We figure this is our last chance to get away before miss Allie Kate gets here! I have 12 MORE WEEKS!! I'm kind of getting nervous I have so much stuff on my to do list that it's not even funny. I have plenty of closets to clean out plenty of baby proofing plenty of everything but this weekend I seriously just want a weekend with out having to clean or run 50 million errands. hopefully you feel my pain?? hope to find some good deals while we are there! have a good week

Broken computer!

ok so couple of weeks ago i was cleaning and dropped our laptop. when i turned it on the screen looked like fireworks!!! its got to either be fixed or replaced! other than that things are going great other than sleep lol allie kate is a night owl seems like thats when she wants to do flips is at night!! oh well its part of being prego! madison has a valentines bash at school today so she is very excited about going. hope everyone has a great day ..... xo xo dolan

31 years old today!

Happy Birthday to me! Wow today I'm 31!!! My family took me out yesterday to my favorite place to eat in Chattanooga. Anyways I seen a saying that i thought was really funny it said  "I still think 1990 was ten years ago!"  that makes me feel very old. I seen an update a couple of years ago on New Kids on the Block on the Block... They were on the TODAY show. They said that they started  20 years ago! I remember dreaming that Jordan would some day be mine! lol time flys!... even though when I see the leggings and neon that the kids are wearing I'm proud to say us 30 somethings started that trend! well off to carpool! ( never thought carpool would be in my vocabulary either !!) But being a mom and wife has been the best gift of all.

under the weather~

Well we have been sick again! To make a long story short over the past 2 weeks its been strep, trip to E.R with Madison because she had a bad virus and was dehydrated ( so she had to get a I.V) While she was there she had a bad reaction to Zofran a drug for nausea. She breaks out from head to toe while there and had to be treated for that as well. Anyways Dolan was sick two weeks ago with a cold or something and this week its my turn. I guess I  just have the "crud" as I call it but I have been running fever coughing and sneezing like 10million times a day!...my doctor called me in a Zpack yesterday so I'm on those for 5 days. So that's how things are going around here!. Thank the lord for my husband, he is always picking up the slack for me so thanks babe for helping me this week I love you.

ASK???

As you know in the last post we confirmed  Allie Kate for our new baby girl's name. Well last night I was on a website playing around with monograms. I went in to show Dolan what Allie's monogram would look like and to my surprise he says ASK??? I'm like WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I'M SURE IF YOU HEARD A SCREAM LAST NIGHT IT CAME FROM RISING FAWN,GA!!) Allies monogram is ASK?? how could I have missed that?? What was I thinking! Any one that knows me knows this is TRAGIC NEWS!
! lol ha ha anyways so the rest of the night all my friends, my family laughed and laughed and got a kick out of the whole thing. Here is proof of my unfortunate luck lol.

WE HAVE A NAME!!!

OK so Dolan and I confirmed today that our baby girls name will be Allie Kate Sanford. Kate was my great grandmothers name Kate Guffey. Cant wait to start monogramming stuff! yay!!

21 weeks today!

This pregnancy has went by so fast, I'm at the half way point now. which is exciting and scary all at the same time. Today I had a doctor's appointment for the baby. My OBGYN said baby looks great. I'm so glad with this baby my OB's office does ultra sounds every visit! with Madison I think I had 3 the whole pregnancy. As for me I'm feeling great these days... so much better than a few months ago. My family is going on a cruise in March.. Madison is going! she is excited! I'm not going to make this family trip the cruise line don't allow you to go unless you are 20 weeks are less. Oh well maybe next time :(   tonight I made this new recipe and it was really good I must say I have never had a real good Chicken Enchilada recipe until now! I sometimes like watching " 19 kids and counting" and they have a great recipe for Enchilada's.  It's simple and cheap to make. here is the the recipe. I cut recipe in half because it makes 20 enchiladas!

 Chicken and Rice Enchiladas

enchilada filling

5c cooked rice
1c sour cream
2c shredded cheese
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
1 can rotel
2t salt
2t pepper
2t onion powder
1can of chicken ( drained and shredded)



cheese sauce
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
1 can green chili's
2c shredded cheese
1 can of evaporated milk

Mix enchilada filling in a bowl. stuff filling in taco bread roll and place in a greased 9x13
dish. mix up cheese sauce and heat till hot. pour on top of enchiladas bake for 30mins on 375 yields 20 enchiladas

While at my parents a couple of weeks ago Madison came across some pictures that had been in storage for several years. It was a treasure to find because some of them are one of a kind and I had not seen them in many years. Here are some that was in the bunch. Made me a little weepy I must say. The kindergarten picture is hilarious to see now let me explain,The day before school pictures Madison decided to cut her HAIR all by her self that year!  Her hair dresser tried to hide it as much as possible but you can still see where she whacked it!  ( very funny now but was not so much then)  So where does time go? I guess I'm sad that my baby is growing up so fast. She will be 11 years old in August!!  She will always be my little baby girl. I know she is going to make a great big sis.

"The Sanfords plus strep"

You may want to Lysol your screen and keys after this post strep has landed in the Sanford house. Madison started throwing up yesterday and complaining of a sore throat. So today I took her to the quick care because her doctor's office was closed because of new years. Anyways she has strep, I'm pretty sure Dolan has it to.. even though he has not been seen for it. So safe to say the house has got a major spray down with Lysol!! I for sure don't want it. Is it spring yet??? Any one else wishing for coat less days?? Well I guess I need to go and take care of my crew. Goodnight ;)
